Lieke Voorintholt at the SEHO Conference and research stay at FBK-IRVAPP

From June 3 to 4, Dr. Lieke Voorintholt attended the 2026 annual conference of the Society of Economics of the Household (SEHO) at the University of Pavia. She presented a joint paper with her with her co-author Dr. Annalisa Tassi (FBK-IRVAPP, Trento) on paid volunteering. The conference offered an excellent opportunity to learn about new research in family and labor economics and to connect with colleagues from the field.

We thank the organizers from the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Pavia for compiling such an interesting program and for hosting participants at the historic university.

In the following week, Lieke visited Annalisa Tassi's institute, FBK-IRVAPP in Trento, to finalize their joint paper. Using administrative data from German income tax returns, the study examines whether a 2013 increase in the yearly tax-free volunteer allowance affected how long volunteers remain in their position, and whether there are spillovers to their labour earnings and donations.

Many thanks to Annalisa and her colleagues at FBK-IRVAPP for a productive and welcoming research stay!
